Earthquake Resistant Structural Design 

2025 January Course Event

In this video, you can see projects from the Earthquake-Resistant Structural Design course I teach in the Department of Architecture at Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts. As part of the course, students attempted to create physical models of seismic dampers, rocking frames, tuned mass dampers, and brace dampers, which we covered in theory. We tested these models on a shake table, shaking them to the point where the buildings collapsed or the table's capacity was reached.
